Physician and Scientist Well-Being Portal
Resource Hub for Physician and Scientist Well-Being at Stanford Medicine
Recognizing the diversity of experiences and challenges physicians and scientists face, the WellMD & WellPhD Center has built a portal to serve as a centralized hub for well-being resources and progress for Stanford Medicine physicians and scientists. Clinical and research faculty, residents, and clinical fellows can use the portal to find programs for mental health support, work-life integration, strengthening of personal relationships, and more.

Catalyzing Well-Being Improvement
Stanford Medicine continues to advance well-being across all segments of the organization, including at the system, department, and individual levels. Well-being is a fundamental metric in evaluations for the School of Medicine, Stanford Health Care, and Stanford Medicine Children’s Hospital, reflecting a system-wide commitment to supporting our physicians and scientists. Through our work, the Center advances system-based interventions and empowers departments to tailor well-being plans to the specific needs of their physicians and scientists. Our collective efforts across Stanford Medicine contribute to our progress in advancing all aspects of the Stanford Model of Occupational Well-BeingTM.
Fostering Community and a Culture of Wellness
Building a culture of wellness is foundational to our approach to well-being across Stanford Medicine. Our interventions not only support individual and team needs, but also align personal and organizational values, fostering a shared culture of wellness and advancing the movement toward Well-Being 2.0. One contributing initiative is Story Rounds, an event series in which Stanford physicians share true stories about their experiences, promoting connections and a sense of belonging among participants. This program, along with others developed in response to internal needs and survey data, encourages meaningful conversations around well-being.
